Loretto Foundation continues its support of the annual Center Circle Event

Every year the Community Housing of Wyandotte County hosts its Center Circle Event honoring key players in the revitalization of Kansas City, Kansas neighborhoods. The 2015 recipients of the “Continue the Legacy Award,” given to CHWC’s most loyal supporters, include Tom Bickimer, Susan Carroll, and James J. Owens. Each member is recognized as furthering CHWC’s mission: changing the lives and providing necessary resources to the people of our communities and enabling families to realize the dream of owning their own home. Let’s meet the honorees who’ve made and continue to make such a remarkable difference in our community:

Tom Bickimer – Founding Bickimer Construction, Inc. in 1982, Tom built a company based on Integrity, customer, service, and quality construction. Tom’s wife Mary kept books for the company while raising six children. They continue to be active in business and are extensively involved with volunteer work in the Kansas City community.

Susan Carroll – Susan has served on the board of directors for CHWC since 2006 in a variety of different roles. Known to be a cornerstone of the Kansas City Community, Susie has devoted much of her life to making Wyandotte County a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Jim Owens – Jim was a founding member of Catholic Housing of Wyandotte County and subsequently CHWC, serving multiple terms. He’s served in various capacities, including Board Treasurer and on the executive, project development, and finance committees. Since retiring, he’s continued to help with CHWC, giving an invaluable amount of his time and energy to the diverse service programs offered.

The Center Circle celebration kicked off with a 5:00 PM cocktail reception and dinner at Sporting Park on June 20th. Capitol Federal, The Loretto Foundation, and JE Dunn Constructions, as well as a number of other local businesses helped to sponsor the event.
