Lamar Hunt Jr supports Ozanam charities

As a licensed professional counselor (LPC), Lamar Hunt Jr. is more than qualified when it comes to helping troubled youth. That’s why the Ozanam organization, known across the Kansas City area for rehabilitating Kansas and Missouri families dealing with disabilities and trauma, selected Hunt to serves as one of the honorary chairmen at their Annual Hollywood Holiday Gala.

As the founder of Loretto Properties, LLC, Hunt also created Loretto Foundation. Even with degrees in music and counseling, Hunt keeps philanthropy near to his heart. Even in his background as a psychologist, he chose to deal with building teens and adults up out of abuse and addiction.

Thanks to Hunt and other supporters, the Gala raised hundreds of thousands of dollars with their most productive fundraiser of the year. Ozanam uses donations to support services like transitional living programs, psychological services and more. Recognized as one of 2012’s Top 10 Kansas City events, the Hollywood Holiday Gala uses performances by at-risk youth, silent auctions and the chairs to help reach their goals for the community. This is no small feat due to the hundreds of people Ozanam serves each year.

One of Hunt’s substantial efforts to help the Gala involved his whole family. As part of the live auction, Gala visitors could win the priceless experience of a night with the Hunts at Arrowhead Stadium. Hunt and his wife Rita, another honorary chairperson, agreed to take the winner on a tour of the stadium before the game, and offered attendance to the press conference after the final goal. Another generously donated item from the Hunts was an autographed Jamaal Charles football.
